True friends let you be yourself. You don't have to change your ways around your true friends to fit in. This is the theme of Park View's Student of the Month Assembly. Mrs. Amber Gull, a third grade teacher at Park View, read a story called, The Bad Apple by Edward Hemingway. Friends are very important for the students at Park View. Everybody needs a true friend to cheer them up. Congratulations to these students for being great friends.
Wyatt McDaniel is a custodian at our school. He started his job in October. He has two brothers and one sister. He has been to Indiana, Sacramento, California, and Wyoming. He is going to graduate from Payson High School. When he was in grade school, he went to Spring Lake and Orchard Hills. He enjoys baseball, and in his free time, he likes to take care of his pigs.
Wyatt cleans Mrs. Kirk’s room. She remarked, “He is very efficient. I love to talk to him when he comes to my room.”
Park View will be selling Heart Grams this Valentine’s Day. They will be sold during lunch and after school February 5th through 8th. The money that is made will be used for boys and girls who have breast cancer. The Heart Grams will be sold for 25 cents each. They will be delivered on Valentine’s Day by the Student Council. Parents can also buy Heart Grams for their children.
Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!
On Jan. 31 Hoops for Health came to tell all Park View students three important things, Don’t Do Drugs, Eat Healthy Foods, and Exercise. Two famous guests came, Dr.Cleo, the Cat, and the Jazz Mascot, The Bear! They came with balls filled with confetti, pop quizzes and energy. The assembly rocked!
Mrs. Reynolds, Principal at Park View Elementary, interviewed many fifth and sixth grade students to find the best candidates for Student Council. The council will serve the school in many ways including cross walk duty, morning announcements, organizing activities, recycling, and assisting Mrs. Reynolds in various other responsibilities. Those serving on the Executive Council are Zach Adams, Makell Loveless, Natalie Edwards, and Mindy Riding.
It’ time for a new student council at Park View! So if you are in fifth or sixth grade and haven’t had a chance to be on the student council, you’re in luck. There’s a Bee Team and a Green Team. The Bee Team gets to do stuff like the morning announcements and other fun stuff! The Green Team gets to do stuff like recycling and other cool stuff! You have to write an essay on why you should be on student council, and you need to add details about a time you served someone! Then you get an interview from Mrs.
On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, Park View held a student of the month assembly. The students learned about being themselves no matter what everyone else thinks. They watched a You-Tube video of Sean Astin reading a book called "A Bad Case of Stripes." The book was about a girl named Camilla who loved to eat lima beans. She stopped eating them because her friends made fun of her. She cared what her friends thought and decided to never eat lima beans again. This resulted in turning into whatever her friends talked about. Her situation turned desper
