Park View storytelling festival was held on Friday September 27th. The weather was a factor this year and so at the last minute changes were made and the festival was brought inside. We had many parent volunteers and PTA members that helped make that change possible. The doors opened at 4:00 and the halls were filled with our Park View students and their families. The event was well attended. The students enjoyed an array of games, food and activities, parents and students of each class helped make our baskets beautiful.
Our SEP Conferences were held October 2nd and 3rd. Mrs. Reynolds arranged for them to last a little later on Wednesday to accommodate more parents' schedules. The teachers discussed grades, reading programs, testing results for 2013, behavior and goals for this year, with the parents and students. The Kindergarten teachers had the students actually help with the SEP Conferences. They showed their parents the work they've been doing and explained what they've been learning.
Thanks to staff and students SEP Conferences were a great success this year.
Park View just held another wonderful Student Council selection. With over 70 applicants and 20 positions, it was wonderful to see so many students want to make our school a better place. Each candidate had to write a one-page essay explaining their best attributes and describing a time they served another person without thinking of being rewarded. They also had to dress up for their interview with Mrs. Reynolds who asked them, "Why should I choose you to be on Student Council?" "The responses were fabulous," Mrs. Reynolds exclaimed.
PAYSON, Utah-May 6, 2013-Park View Elementary Parent Teacher Association with the help of local businesses kicked-off a historical teacher appreciation celebration. Due to a limited budget, past teacher appreciation events have only consisted of small teacher gifts, decorated classroom doors and a PTA hosted luncheon. However, this year with over $5,000 worth of donations from local businesses, the Park View PTA was able to make gift baskets stuffed with goodies for all school staff members, and additional daily gifts for each teacher throughout the entire week.
My dearest PTA members,
Thank you so much for a fantastic year! As a board we want to express our appreciation for all the volunteer hours and donations of your food, your time, and your talents. We have had a very successful year and we simply could not do it without your support. We have made some major accomplishments this year so we would like to thank, again, those that made this year so wonderful!
