The Sixth Grade Annual Science Fair was held at Park View Elementary on February 3, 2012. The students used the scientific method to generate questions, form a hypothesis, experiment, and construct a theory. Outstanding projects were presented and explained as parents and student body viewed their projects. Scientist professors and students from UVU were invited to judge the student's entries. All of the students worked very hard and completed some amazing experiments. Six top entries were announced as winners of the fair: Through experimentation, Kiyan Loveless observed which brand of battery had the most longevity. Garrison Serynek wondered if the temperature makes a difference in how quickly Alka-Seltzer causes a chemical reaction. Kaden Flippen questioned which kinds of wood would burn the fastest.  Megan Dixon demonstrated the position of a gymnast's body based on the gymnast's velocity. Micah Toelupe wondered if microwaves are useful or dangerous. Kenji Heimuli wondered, "Are you smarter than a blonde?"  His conclusion - blondes are mighty smart. These entries will continue on to the Nebo School District's Fair which will take place on February 22 at Landmark High School.
