Yesterday Park View Bees celebrated some of the most important people in the school, our secretaries! Mrs. Kent, Mrs. Crump, Mrs. Knuteson and Mrs. Sanchez always go above and beyond in their jobs. Everyone in the school loves them. They are caring, thoughtful, organized, and a whole lot of fun. They are the glue that keeps our school running! So, thank you secretaries, WE LOVE YOU!
4th and 5th graders from all around the district participated in the keyboarding competition! At the district level, there were 259 fourth graders and 266 fifth graders competing. We had 11 fourth graders and 9 fifth graders qualify for this competition! The top fourth grader from our school was Brigham Holloway at 40 words per minute and the top fifth grader was Maliha Jacobson at 57 words per minute. Both of these students got the Golden Keyboard award for being the top students in their grade at Park View.
We want to give a HUGE thank you to Chubby's Cafe in Payson for hosting a school fundraiser for Park View. Families from Park View and all over Payson ate at Chubby's last month and generated a whopping $1,098 for Park View! We are so appreciative of all the families who helped, it's because of you and businesses like Chubby's that we are able to provide meaningful experiences for our students.
March Madness at Park View was a month of reading marvelous books that were chosen by our teachers. Students listened to two books every other day, and then they voted on their favorite. The book with the most votes moved onto the next bracket. The students had fun watching the competition between the books, and they crossed their fingers that the book they voted for made it through to the next bracket. By the end of March a winner was crowned.
Our Park View Parent Club organized a wonderful week of activities and gifts to show appreciation to our teachers. Students wore their teachers' favorite colors, brought them treats, wrote them kind notes and brought them school supplies. Thank you to our PVP Club for providing an awesome lunch - the Taco Food Truck, where everyone could choose their favorite thing to eat. Parents made posters and the school was decorated. Everywhere you went, outside and inside the school, there were signs of appreciation.
