Sixth Graders Take to the Ice

The sixth graders showed their agility and good humor while skating at Peaks Arena in Provo. The field trip was a great way to enjoy the beginning of winter while learning a new skill or practicing an old one. While ability of the skaters varied, everyone had a great time!

Park View Says Goodbye

Mr. John Clark, a beloved third grade teacher at Park View Elementary, retired this November. Clark led an eventful life before becoming a teacher. He served in the National Guard at age 18 before fulfilling an LDS mission to Sweden. Mr. Clark then served in the regular army for two years where he earned the prestigious Din-a-Ling award for getting his unit lost in the woods. He served in the Reserves for many years and was honorably discharged as a Major.

Red Barn Adventure

After learning all about plants, first graders at Park View visited the Red Barn in Santaquin. Students started their tour with a brief presentation in the loft of the Red Barn explaining what the farm grows and the process in which the fruit and vegetables from the farm make it from to homes. Students then loaded up the hay wagons and head to Mountainland Apples packing plant to watch what happens to the apples in order to have them ready to ship to the grocery stores where consumers may purchase them. Each child was given an apple when leaving Mountainland.

Park View Pumpkin Fun

Sixth graders at Park View Elementary used teamwork and creativity to transform pumpkins into works of art. Students were given time to plan the design of their projects before the creation day. Students received one hour to create their masterpieces and what wonderful results!

Not Sleeping on the Job

Park View was filled with exclamations and giggles when students found Ms. Nevins reading in bed on Pajama Day. Students and faculty wore their pajamas to school to show their commitment to being drug free. Ms. Nevins surprise was a great way to start the day!
