Ice Bucket Challenge Makes It's Way to Park View
A few of the teachers at Park View were challenged to the popular "Ice Bucket Challenge" to assist in awareness of ALS. Enjoy the chilling pictures of those who took the challenge.

Park View students were treated with Boot Camp Training on August 25th. Fearless leaders, Mrs. Stirland, Mrs. Ore, Mrs. McClellen, Mrs. Ellsworth, and Mrs. Kober (not pictured) trained all students on the rules and policies of the school. Boot Camp included salutes, about faces, and shouts of "yes sir!" as the students were reminded of the rules in military form. For every student to feel safe at Park View, all students should follow the rules on the playground, in the cafateria, in the restrooms and in the halls.
There is nothing like the magic of the first day of school. Meeting your teacher, visiting with your friends you haven't seen over the summer, and checking out your assigned desk filled with math and reading books. Welcome back to another exciting year of learning, growth and friendship.
Welcome to the new teachers joining our team of experts. From left to right: Mr. Wright, Mrs. Peterson, Mrs. Parmenter, Mrs. Paice, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Shepherd and Mrs. Rife. We are so excited to get to know you. Hope you enjoy the Park View Bee buzz.

I'm so excited to serve as principal at Park View School. Here are a few dates to mark on your calendar:
On Thursday, May 22, 2nd grade went to the Payson Library where we learned about this summer's reading program: Fizz, Boom, Read. It is a science theme and the library has turned into a libratory. We got a tour of the library, saw a science experiment where bubbles were made with soap & dry ice & we acted out the story of The 3 Little Pigs. Sign up for the summer reading program starting June 3.
Students showed off their talents on Wednesday, May 21. Many of them had been practicing for months in order to be their best. There was dancing, singing, pianists, and even some acrobatics! Even some teachers got in on the fun!
Miss Allred’s fifth grade class and Ms. Toutai’s first grade class became buddies at the beginning of the year. They started by reading together, then later for Halloween they made noodle skeletons. For Thanksgiving they made paper turkeys, and for Christmas they made ornaments. For the last activity of the year, they did an obstacle course. Some of the events were a balance beam, stepping stones, frisbee toss, and a zig-zag slalom. The fifth graders all made new friends and the first graders loved seeing their buddies in the hall throughout the year.
Sixth graders launched into space at the Discover Space Center on Friday, May 2. The field trip experience was divided into two parts: space simulators and science classes. The class portion focused on light, sound, and astronomy. In the simulator, students worked together to complete a successful mission. Students were required to use what they learned under stressful situations. They had to listen to each other and work together as a team in order to accomplish their mission goals.
