Science Fair

Park View Elementary sixth graders participated in the annual science fair. Students worked hard and learned much in the process…the scientific process that is. Students spent months learning about the many steps in the scientific process before selecting a topic or idea that interested them and conducting their own experiments.

The science fair gave students the first chance to design his or her own learning experience, one that allows him or her to innovate, just as scientists do in the real world. Students were able to explore personal interests by selecting an area for his or her science fair project, as well as learn the scientific method to answer a question. Each student also developed skills above and beyond science proficiency, such as reading comprehension, writing a research paper, creating graphs, performing data analysis, planning a multi-step project, and communication skills.

The following students (pictured) will go on to the district competition, and if successful, will then be asked to participate in the regional competition: Maddison Mickelsen, Abbigail Ferrin, Justin Riley, Madilyn Trauntvein, Haley Dixon, and Austin Gubler.
