Every semester Park View Elementary’s Student Council tries to facilitate a school-wide service project to help others in need. This year is no different. Thanks to USSynthetic’s Global Classroom, students will be able to help struggling schools across the globe in Kenya, Africa.
Classroom conditions are bleak in this impoverished third-world country. Most classrooms do not have electricity, therefore no light. Children sit on the dirt floor as there are few desks. Books are scarce. With just a little bit of money, these conditions can be altered. For $350, a solar light/cell phone charger can be purchased for a classroom. For $25, a desk/bench, and three books for $10.
All this week, students will be selling Heart-Grams during lunch. For one quarter, children can send messages to their friends or family with a little holiday treat. All proceeds will go directly to Kenya. If you would like to purchase hearts for your children, grandchildren, neighbors, etc., please bring money into the office at anytime. If you would like to make an additional donation, without buying hearts, you may do so. With your help, we can make a significant difference in the lives of the children in Kenya, as well as, here in Payson.
