Park View Student Leaders presented a $500 scholarship to Alyssa Gowans from PHS. Student leaders earn money each year by selling Otter Pops to put into a scholarship fund. They received several applications for this scholarship. With the names of the applicants removed, all of our student leaders read and voted on who they felt was the best candidate to receive this scholarship.

To be awarded this scholarship, the recipient had to meet some of the following requirements. They had to be a high school senior that is an alumni of Park View. They had to share their leadership skills and abilities with ohters, be active in community service, and participate in extracurricular activities. They also had to write an essay stating their goals and how they would use this scholarship.

The student leaders were grateful to all those who applied. It was a difficult decision because there were so many wonderful canidates. However, the Park View Student Leaders chose to award this scholarship to Alyssa Gowan. She met and exceeded all the requirements.

Some of the things that stood out to the student leaders about Alyssa’s application were that she set a goal to achieve a 4.0 all through junior high and high school, and she accomplished that goal. She served on the Payson High Student Council for three years. She mentioned the great memories she had of her time at Park View.

Alyssa plans to continue her education in Interior Design at Ensign College and then start her own business.

Good Luck Alyssa - Thanks for being an Amazing Park View Bee.
