Utah County Search and Rescue Visit!

Submitted by samantha.jasperson on Wed, 02/16/2022 - 20:27

The third graders in Mrs. Jasperson's literacy class had quite the surprise when a volunteer for Utah County Search and Rescue popped in to teach them a little bit about outdoor survival techniques. Mrs. Jasperson's literacy class has been reading the classic novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. It's about a young boy who ends up in the Canadian wilderness due to some unfortunate circumstances. He is forced to learn how to survive. The students have been so interested in the boys survival that they wanted to hear real life stories of people who have also overcome wilderness hardships.

Black bubble gum, black bubble gum that comes alive and finds its way into Tommy's mouth. This was the premise of the story students got to listen to from a very talented story teller. Students that had good behavior this term were rewarded with a fun story telling assembly full of funny tales. They were also rewarded with a pop it keychain! Thank you to Arts and Education for coming to our school. We sure do love good behavior, we are so happy for all the students who got to participate!

Grandparents Day!

Bagels, bananas, oranges, Sunny D and chocolate milk were plated with care early this morning in preparation for our annual grandparents day! We love grandparents at Park View and we saw that Park View students love their grandparents too. Students had the opportunity to have some one on one time with their grandparents  and spoil them with a yummy breakfast. After breakfast the grandparents had the chance to return the favor and spoil their grandkids with books from the book fair! Smiles were had, tummies were filled and memories were made. We love Grandparents!

Mt Nebo Middle School Administrators are coming next week to sign up your 5th graders for classes at the middle school. Is your fifth grade child wanting to join orchestra next year? If so, you will want them to know a little more about the different instruments and possibly which they'd be interested in playing. Below you will find various resources Mr. Nebo Middle School has provided to help you make the decision. Mrs Jane Ledesma is the orchestra teacher and truly one of the best around! We can't wait to see our bees in the middle school orchestra!

The Park View arts festival is quickly approaching! This is an awesome opportunity for students to explore different art mediums and concepts. The theme this year is "I can be SUCCESSFUL" So what does that look like for you? You can  paint about it, take a picture, write about, cross stitch, or hey even try your hand at calligraphy! So get involved and have fun with it, who knows, your art piece may just be displayed in the hall for all to see for and entire year! All entries are due FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18.  Each student who enters must also submit an entry form with their art piece.
