Park View was filled with exclamations and giggles when students found Ms. Nevins reading in bed on Pajama Day. Students and faculty wore their pajamas to school to show their commitment to being drug free. Ms. Nevins surprise was a great way to start the day!

Park View Elementary fourth graders show their entrepreneur skills at the annual Economics Fair. As part of their social studies curriculum, students learned about the economic development and procedures in Utah. Students then made products of their own, such as foam swords, hair clips, pencil toppers, and many other items which they then sold to their fellow students. The fourth graders earned over $900.00 which will go towards guest speakers and any necessary classroom supplies.

Fourth grade students at Park View Elementary were invited to the State Capitol on September 24, by Representative Patrick Painter. The three fourth grade classes have been learning how representative government has developed in Utah and how people who live in Utah have rights and responsibilities associated with representative government. Students were able to see our state legislature in action, go on an extensive tour of the capitol, and even sit in the desks on the floor of the House of Representatives.

Kindergarten through sixth grade students at Park View Elementary decided to get down and dirty Saturday and Monday nights at the First Annual Onion Days Pig Wrestling Contest. They went with the quest to not only capture their pig, but to help raise money to aid in the research of Multiple Sclerosis. After a time limit of one minute to catch, pick up, and deposit a pig into a barrel, many students were left looking more like “Pig Pen” on Charlie Brown than as the person they walked into the pen as.
