Kids spent their tokens and tickets from the veggie project on the book fair and other kids spent their money on the office. Mrs. Kent called people down that didn’t have enough money to buy something at the book fair . Leah Moser got four book marks, one kitten poster, and a little pony book. Wendy Camba got two book marks and a monster high book and a one direction poster. Brisa Rodriguez got two book marks and a monster high book. Reading Month

Submitted by jessie.olsen on

What’s happening during reading month is kids are, of course, reading.   Prizes are given out on Tuesday and Wednesday.  If you do your reading, you could get drawn for prizes, but your teachers need to say you’ve been reading.  Be sure you’re reading because, if your class has the highest percentage for reading in your grade, your class could get a prize.  Also, every week, there are trivia questions!  If you want to get a prize, answer the trivia questions!  What are some prizes you could win?  Toys, games, art supplies, and, of course, BOOKS!

March 12th was an eventful day at Park View.  As part of Park View's Reading Month, the halls were filled with parents and students reading together.  First grader, Brixton Gull said, "I liked it because I like the donuts."  Jonathan Gonzalaz, a second grader added, "I liked the book and the donuts."  Wendy Camba commented, "I think the parents liked it because they got a donut and they got to read a book to the kids."  Jordin Gonzalaz observed that little kids were really paying attention to their parents reading to them.

Payson Jr. High Choir Entertains Park View Students

Submitted by joann.kirk on

The Payson Jr. High Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Bolz, traveled to Park View to tickle our fancy with their singing.  Several of the choir memebers came from our very own Park View and pleased us with solos.  The program began with Mariah Webber singing the National Antham.  The 7th Grade Choir sang an African Song called Sing and Dance.  A young man played the bongo drums as accompaniment.  "Dance while the music sings to you."  They also sang Gallop and I am the Voice of America.
