Valentine's Day was an eventful day at Park View. Students from all grades were able to purchase Heart Grams for their friends sold by the Student Council. The money raised went to Breast Cancer Research in honor of our dear friend and former teacher at Park View, Leslie Ewell. Students enjoyed classroom parties and Valentine exchanges. Second Grade Celebrates the 102nd Day of School

Submitted by carrie.vannosdol on

Students in second grade celebrated the 102nd Day of school today. Celebrating the 100th day is important because place value is  a fundamental math concept in 1st and 2nd grades. Since students are in the second grade, they celebrated the 102nd day. Students dressed up like they were 102 years-old, wrote about what they might be like when they are 102 years old, wrote equations that equaled 102, thought of words that described 102 (old, elderly, cane, etc), and gave numerical values to letters and added up how much these words would equal 102.
