Submitted by joann.kirk on

“All I ever wanted was to reach out and touch another human being, not just with my hands, but with my heart.”
Tahereh Mafi

Another month has come and gone, and the students at Park View have mastered another character trait, that of Compassion.  Students found ways to show kindness and caring to other students and their teachers.  Thanks to all those who make our school great by being compassionate.

Reading Week Activities

Submitted by joann.kirk on

During the week of February 29 and March 4, Park View Students celebrated Reading Week with many exciting events.  Each day, students rotated to various classrooms to hear stories of adventure, laughter and lessons.  On Wednesday, an assembly was presented with stories and fun.  Teachers became characters acting out the stories of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and The Gingerbread Man.  It was fun to see them so animated as they got into their parts.  Students also dressed up as their favorite Dr. Suess character.

Valentine's Day Activities Encourage Friendship

Submitted by joann.kirk on

Friendship and sharing was witnessed at Park View on Valentine's Day.  Students created Valentine Boxes to receive cards and made Valentines to share with their friends.  It was a day to remember.  Here are some of the activities that occured during the day:  Mrs. Thomas’s kindergarten class exchanged candy.   They had the joy of decorating cookies and cupcakes.   They learned about friendship by practicing how to be kind.
