Park View is filled with fantastic faculty and staff. We want you to get to know us a little better, both personally and professionally!
This is the first part of an ongoing series we will be doing highlighting the different teams at Park View. So, without further ado, meet our 6th grade team: Carrie Van Nosdol, Tori Lewis, and Jodi Mantilla
Before Christmas break, students that had good behavior during the term had the privilege of enjoying Payson High’s production of the hilarious movie, Elf. Payson High did a wonderful job at singing, dancing and getting everyone in the Christmas spirit! It was a reward for students for sure.

Each month students are given a reading sheet. Each night the students read, they or their parents initial a box. When students turn in their sheets, their name is put into a drawing for each row they fill up.
This year, Mrs. Stirland drew 6 names from each grade level. Once a name was drawn they were given the chance to spin the prize wheel, which included: king sized candy bars, class pizza parties, Sip-N gift cards, root beer floats, and money!
Congratulations to the students that won, it really does pay to read!
Did you visit the wax museum this month? These 5th graders did a spectacular job acting as famous figures in history. If you didn’t get a chance to see their performance, have no fear, we have pictures!
Utah Opera came to Park View and taught about the four different voice ranges: bass, mezzo, soprano, and tenor. The opera singers put on several different skits that accompanied different opera pieces, their voices were incredible! The assembly was made possible due to the POPS program of Utah (Professional Outreach Programs in the Schools)

Today, students of Park View had the privledge of standing amoung heros. Veterans that are related to Park View students and faculty were honored in a special Veterans Day assembly. The assembly was opened by a flag ceremony, The Pledge of Alligence, and the national anthem sung by Zoe Stevenson, Wyatt Alexander, Emma Anderson, and Gracie Morton. The fifth grade students helped everyone feel patriotic with songs about military and America. The veterans and their relatives stood as their heroic story was read aloud.
Our school has implemented the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. These habits have created a culture of empowerment based on the idea that every person can be a leader. Students are developing their whole person- through mind, body, heart and spirit. Each habit teaches critical thinking, goal setting, listening and speaking, self-directed learning, presentation-making and the ability to work in groups.

Last week was Red Ribbon Week! Students at Park View learned the importance of keeping our bodies healthy and the reasons they should stay drug free. It was a fun week for everyone! Check out all the students that pledge to "BEE" DRUG FREE!
At the end of our last school year the student council held a fundraiser which earned over $900 - it was all donated to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation for cancer research. The money earned the school two paving stones to be placed in the Huntsman’s Walk of Hope in honor of Mrs. Walker, our beloved computer technician who passed away from cancer last March. Just recently the stones were placed. Thank you to all those who helped make this happen through so many generous donations.
