We have offically kicked off our annual Arts Festival this week! The theme for the festival is "Stronger Together". There are three different categories for entries: Alternative Art, Photography and Traditional Art. Students may submit up to three entries - only one per category. Each entry must be submitted to the office, with a completed entry form, by Friday, February 19th. There are rules that apply, so please read the forms and attachments carefully.
Today was officially the 100th day of school! Do you recognize any of these old folks?
Second grade celebrated the 100th day of school a little early this year, but boy were these old geezers cute hobbling down the halls all day. We just can’t believe we have been able to stay in school for 100 whole days! This year, more than any year, that is something to celebrate!
Usually around this time of year the ground is covered in snow and winter feels like it will never end. Park View has always been able to squeeze in our annual sledding reward activity (everyone’s favorite) but unfortunately this year, due to the lack of snow we had to cancel. On the positive side of things, entertainment was not lost and we were still able to reward our students for their great behavior! We were able to purchase a fun and motivating virtual assembly from Guinness World Record holder Matt Wilhelm! This guy is a national champion!
Today our fifth graders attended sixth grade orientation put on by Mt. Nebo Middle School. The fifth grade students were sent home with registration/course selection papers that afternoon. Please help your child complete and return the forms by January 22nd. And just in case those papers were lost on the way home, you can get everything you need by clicking this link.
Here is an overview of what Park View students have been working on this month! Teachers are on the lookout for kids in their class that are compassionate and can collaborate. Those students will be chosen for January's Learner of the Month!
The 2021 Park View Bees Student Leader Election has been well under way this week. This is the first time all students running have had their posters in on time and each student did a superb job on them! Congratulations to the officers: Brock H. President, Charley J. VP, Finn K. In December we highlighted the learner quality PERSIST! All month teachers watched for two students in their class that demonstrated this learner quality. The students that were chosen were students who kept trying even when things got difficult. They didn’t give up!

I'm sure many of you parents are just as bummed as we are that Christmas Around the Tree was canceled this year. This is one of our favorite traditions, it always brings the Christmas spirit!
