Sixth graders launched into space at the Discover Space Center on Friday, May 2. The field trip experience was divided into two parts: space simulators and science classes. The class portion focused on light, sound, and astronomy. In the simulator, students worked together to complete a successful mission. Students were required to use what they learned under stressful situations. They had to listen to each other and work together as a team in order to accomplish their mission goals.

"It was so intense! We almost died!" Madison Drake said. Tyler Bott said, "It was hard because everyone was telling me to do something while I was trying to do my job." Emely Alas said "I'll always remember how nervous we were on the space ship simulator and it taught me leadership skills."
