If you were driving by Park View on Sept. 29th or Oct. 1st, chances are you saw kids outside walking or running. The kids were giving their all to earn money for the PTA. Every few laps the kids could earn prizes such as silly bands, Frisbees, treats and water bottles. This motivated the kids to try their hardest. Previously, they asked family and friends for donations for each lap they completed.
We had some outstanding runners. Even a few teachers joined in the fun. These are the top boy or girl runners for each grade:
Kindergarten: Hadlee K. ran 4.8 miles; Caleb H. ran 4.8 miles
First grade: Davin W. ran 5.6 miles; Karlie A. ran 4.8 miles
Second grade: Zandon T., Stefan A. and Jaxton H. ran 5.4 miles; Rebbeca H., Kendal E., Allie S., Allie W. and Jennica C. ran 4.4 miles
Third grade: Braxton S. ran 6.6 miles; Brinley K. ran 4.8 miles
Fourth grade: Caulyn W. and Tallin K. ran 7 miles: Lia W. ran 5.6 miles
Fifth grade: Ethan D. ran 6.6 miles; Kiri B. and Sierra W. ran 5.4 miles
6th grade: Kaleb F. ran 7.8 miles and Aubrey W. ran 6.6 miles.
The top money makers will be invited to a catered lunch with Mrs. Stirland as their host to honor their achievement. Top Winners for each grade level are Tavin B., Taylor H., Jaxton H., William D., Tallin K., Ethan D., and Olivia A.
Thank you to all the parents who came and helped us the day of the race, all the teachers and staff for their support and for the committee members which included Jenny Hinton, Liz Lowder, Hilary Adams, Melinda Baker, Are Johansen, Melissa Andrew, Shelly McClellen, Natalie Cunningham, and Rachel Fransen who was our mascot, Radical Racer.
