On January 28, 2015 our school was privileged to see an amazing Opera Assembly presented by the Utah Opera School Program. Our school was chosen out of many Utah Schools to see these talented performers. Their names were, Lindsay, the pianist, Jessica, a soprano, Will, a base, and Tyson, a tenor.  They had very powerful voices. They taught us opera definitions such as soprano, duets, and trios and all sorts of things about opera.  Utah Opera School Programs give students opportunities to develop skills in music as identified in the state core curriculum while they are being introduced to the basic elements of the art form of opera; this program also shows audiences that being involved in the art form can be moving, thrilling, and fun. They hope to inspire promising young artists and give them experience with the variety of artistic activities and careers involved in the creation, development, and production of opera. .  Students were asked what they thought of the assembly.  Maya Sorenson said, “It was better than I expected it to be.’’  Karli said, “It kept getting better!’’ Lucy Rice said that if she rated it on a scale of 0-10, she would give it a big 9.  Brielle Shirley said ‘’ It was good, better than I thought.’’  Thanks to the Utah Opera School Program for allowing Park View to see this great performance.
