Math Facts Breakfast

Since the beginning of the year, second grade students at Park View Elementary have been working on Addition Math Facts #1-20.  Students take time during class to practice with flash cards, timed tests, and the number of the day. They are also required to practice at least 3 nights a week as homework. At least once a week, students meet one on one with their teacher or a parent volunteer and try to pass off a new set of facts. If they can do each fact within about 3-5 seconds or with fluency then they pass it off and move on to the next set of facts. All second grade students celebrated passing off all of their addition facts with a breakfast. "We're very proud of their hard work and perseverance!" second grade teacher, Laura McAllister exclaimed.
