The Ultimate Egg Challenge

Submitted by samantha.jasperson on

Earlier this week the fifth graders participated in what some might call The Ultimate Egg Challenge. Most adults and students have some experience or memory participating in the classic egg drop challenge. This is where you take a raw egg, package it up, drop it from somewhere high, and finally see if the egg survived. Well, these fifth graders took the egg drop to the next level!

Spelling Bee 2021!

Submitted by samantha.jasperson on

This last week Park View students in grades third, fourth and fifth grades participated in our annual spelling bee. These kids worked hard studying the various words and did so well competing against each other. Ultimately there could only be one winner in each grade, but all the kids that participated did great!

Congratulations to our top spellers!

3rd Grade Top 3: Kasen Marvin (1), Maliha Jacobson (2), Zoe Johnson (3)

Art Festival 2021

Even during these socially distanced times, our art festival was more successful than ever! We had over 150 entries and the winners from each grade are now displayed in the hall of our school.  We would like to give a special thanks to all of the parents who donated their time to judge the entries this year. We would also like to recognize the art committee for their work as well.

We had quite the surprise with the Dr. Suess books today. Mrs. Jindra our school counselor and the student leaders read "The Sneetches." And our one and only Librarian, Mrs. Niepraschk, gave us the story of a lifetime with a reading of "Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You?" It was fun to watch the students mimic the sounds and facial expressions of Mrs. Niepraschk. Definitely check out the videos!

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess! Today we celebrated the many characters and books of Dr. Suess in honor of him and his birthday. There were Thing Ones and Thing Twos, Sneetches, and Whos! Cat in the Hat was even spotted roaming the hallways, but best of all students were served green eggs and ham, such a delicacy! What a fun day it was. Check out the pictures and the Dr. Suess read alouds from Mr. Broadbent and Mrs. Hancock below!
