Scholastic Book Fair Coming

The book fair is next week, November 4th-8th! This is a great opportunity for you to get high interest books into your childs hands. Here is what you need to know:

1. Teacher Preview: Teachers attend the book fair before it starts and make book recommendations. These are books the teachers have loved and want you to love them too.

2. All For Books: This is a really great program that helps the school buy books. Donate your loose change at the book fair, round up your purchase, or buy an airhead for only 25 cents.

3. Teacher Wishlists: Teachers will make a wishlist of books they would love to have in their classroom. If you want, you can buy a book for your childs teacher. When you donate a book the child can write their name on the inside cover. Their teacher will love their new gift and always remember who gave it to them! Look for the wishlists at the fair

4. Grandparent Breakfast: All of Park View students are invited to bring a grandparent or special adult friend to a continental breakfast on Thursday, November 7th from 8:00 a.m - 8:30 a.m. Last year we had a wonderful turn out but not enough food. Don't worry this year your bellies will be full! We encourage you to visit the book fair before, during or after the breakfast.

The 2018-19 Final Trustland's Report is complete.  It shows last year's plan for using State Trustland Funds for the greatest academic needs of our students, and how those funds were spent.  Many great things are afforded for our students due to the availability of this money. We are grateful to our School Community Council who assisted in formulating this plan.  We would love to have you read about it.

Stand4Kind Assembly

As many of you know Park View’s theme this year is “Be Kind”. Teachers and students alike have been working a little bit harder to be kinder to one another. Students are going out of their way to do things for their peers, give a nice compliment, or lend a helping hand.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting Stand4Kind at our school. Stand4kind is an organization that promotes being kind, anti-bullying, and suicide awareness. The band Foreighn Figures works in conjunction with the Stand4Kind organization. This band knows how to rock! They gave us an awesome show today and spoke messages of kindness, positive self-image and more. All the students at Park View left happy and with a renewed energy to be kind.

To learn more about Stand4Kind follow them on instagram @Stand4kind and to hear some really awesome music with a great message and cool guys give @foriegnfigures a follow on instagram as well. And don’t forget, BE KIND!
