Park View Elementary presented to the Nebo School Board of Education. The School Community Council was represented by Principal, Kristie Reynolds, third grade teacher and School Community Counselor member, Natalie Mellen, and parent and School Community Council member, Emily Rigby. They presented on the current state of affairs at Park View Elementary. They reported how the school has continued to see progress in their end of year testing in both language arts and math. A lot of that progress is attributed to the school’s reteach, enrich, and extend program in which grade levels work on improving math skills.

The board also heard from members of the student council. Kya Heimuli, Stuart Charles, Braxton Hall, and Sydney Jensen spoke about all of the great things that the student council has done over the past eight years. The sixth grade orchestra performed Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' and Canon in 'D' under the direction of JamiAnn Brindley. The orchestra members are Arilie Taylor, Joslyn Openshaw, Katy Hinton, Kayzlee Davis, Kinsey Makin, Lexie Linde, Lindsey Welston, Rachel Webber, Abby Maloy, Kade Bingham, Mitchell Grimaud, and Stuart Charles. The students all did an amazing job in representing Park View. We are so proud of them!

BMX Bicycle Stunt Show at Park View

Today at Park View, we had a "wheel" good assembly. Rich Wieber from BMX Bicycle Stunt Shows came to show students some great tricks as well as teach them about bike safety. As a reward for 100% homework completion, our DARE assembly was well attended. Rich taught the students to always wear their helmet, check their bike before riding, and believe in their dreams. "You can do anything you dream about, if you practice hard enough," Rich explained. He told a compelling story describing a day he was practicing behind a Wal-Mart, when a 12-year-old boy came to ask questions about doing stunts. He took time to chat with the boy, who was most grateful. Almost 20 years later, that "boy" tours with him and is a nationally recognized BMX racer. The show ended with a grand finale as one of the riders, Justin, jumped over Mr. Gowans, Mrs. Reynolds, Ms. Allred, and Ms. Larson! The kids were amazed!
